Andrew "Drew" Schneider

Simulation Educator

EMS Educator

The truth is that I really don't like talking about myself that much.

You won't find a personal manifesto here. No political, social, or moral rants. Just some information on who I am and how to contact me.

Current Employment:

Central New Mexico Community College (CNM)

  • Simulation Education Specialist (Full-time)
    • I specialize in simulation based instruction of any medical occupation. While most of our instruction is for primary instruction, we do have external clients and perform simulation based continuing education and skills verification. The programs we support are Nursing (ADN & BSN), EMS (all levels), Respiratory Therapy, Patient Care Tech, Radiology Tech, Dental Assistant, and more are in the process of starting with the sim center soon.
  • EMS Program Faculty (Part-Time)
    • I have been involved with EMS education for close to a decade. I started with interns on my ambulance when I was a field provider and now I am involved in many aspects of EMS education at CNM.

Clinical Background:

Before moving to full-time instruction, I worked for about a decade as a Paramedic for a service that provided 911 and inter-facility transport. While my clinical license is the dark side of medicine, I hold a great admiration for all clinical specialties and occupations.

  • I have started my Masters Degree the Fall 2016. The program is called Organization, Instructional, and Learning Sciences (OILS). The program is for those who are instructors of adults, eLearning, and workforce instruction. Click here to see my portfolio of eLearning, videos, and other instructional designs.
  • Bachelor's in Liberal Arts (Summa Cum Laude) from the Univerisity of New Mexico. My degree was a focus of EMS, Adult Education/Training, and Sociology.
  • Associate in Applied Science, EMS-Paramedic for Central New Mexico Community College. Initialy, I obtained a Certificate in Paramedicine from CNM. CNM converted to an Associate's degree about a year later and I completed the course work to upgrade my certificate to an associate's degree.
